Whitehead Ginseng Farm began operations in 1992, planting its’ first garden, Oct 1/1992, in Armstrong, British Columbia.
Rather than selling our first crop to the large Hong Kong buyers we developed a domestic niche market for fresh ginseng.. Soon we were shipping fresh ginseng to the U.S.A., Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Australia.
Retail sales were soon commenced at numerous Vancouver area locations. (pictures of night markets and festivals) including: Granville Island Market, Chinatown Night Market, Richmond Night Market, Chinese New Year Festivals, and Chinese Cultural Festivals.
In 2004, after giving a speech to a group of 300 Chinese-Canadian businessmen, we were offered a free booth at a large (4400 booths) trade show in China. (Chinese television video) There we promoted on behalf of the B.C. and Ontario Ginseng Growers Associations.
In 2005 we joined Prime Minister Martins’ trade mission to Beijing, where we again promoted on behalf of the Canadian Ginseng Industry.

In 2006 at the invitation of the Chinese Government (who paid our travel, accommodation and food) we attended the International Cooperation Summit For Asia-Pacific CEOs & Provincial Governors and Mayors in Wuxi, China. We used this opportunity to promote on behalf of the Canadian Ginseng Industry, and, to promote our wine business by shipping wines to serve at the Summit banquet.
In 2006/7 we signed contracts with large Chinese State owned herb companies to supply 100,000kg of American Ginseng.
Jan, 2008 we opened our retail shop in Richmond.
Feb, 2010, we had a booth at the Plaza of Nations during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
Oct 2010 we exhibited at the Chinese Cultural Fesitival sponsored by Hebei Prov (where our Chinese company is incorporated)
